Understanding Runway

Runway tells you how long your business can operate at the current burn rate before running out of cash.

Formula:

Runway (months) = Cash Balance / Monthly Burn Rate

Calculating Burn Rate

Burn rate is your net cash outflow:

Burn Rate = Expenses - Revenue

From transactions:

  • Sum all expense transactions
  • Subtract revenue transactions
  • Average over selected period

Manual override:
